Happy Autumn!

We had a wonderful Autumn and a spooky Halloween. We spent the last few months:

going on walks,

playing at the park,

visiting the zoo,

carving pumpkins,

going to the farm and pumpkin patch,

visiting the pumpkin walk in Logan

and spending as much time outside before the cold winter arrived.

Here are my three spooky ghouls on Halloween night! Carlie was suffering with a cold but still felt well enough to go trick-or-treating.

Carlie was a Princess Witch, Davis was Spiderman and Joseph was a Frog (in case you couldn't figure it out).

End of Summer Fun

Like every year, summer ended much to soon. We had to get in as much fun as we could before the weather started getting cooler and school started. Here are a few things we were able to squeeze in:
A trip with the Emery Family up to Heber Valley Campground. We played, hiked, and even kayaked. It was a fun, relaxing end of summer get-away. Here Carlie is with her cousin. They love getting together.

Of course, summer is not complete with out lots of trips to the swimming pool. We had season passes this summer to Cherry Hill. A few friends and family were able to make the trip up to spend a day with us at the water park. Here Carlie is with Brynlee.

The annual Bear Lake trip is a favorite that the kids look forward to every year. Unfortunately this year was quite cool, so the time spent at the lake was limited. The kids just have fun getting together to play anyway.

We rented Jet Ski's one morning. It was quite cool and the kids only liked being on them for a few minutes.

1st Day of School!

Here is the big kindergartner on her first day of school. This is a day Carlie has looked forward to for a long time and I have dreaded for a long time. It was hard letting my little girl get on the bus that first day and see her ride off to school. It's a good thing she LOVES school and has a great teacher to make it easier to see her go everyday. She is learning lots and her reading improves each day. She is now helping me read the Magic Treehouse books.



Davis has also started preschool one day each week and loves going to all of his new friends' houses. We have set up the same neighborhood preschool we did with Carlie. So now Davis has 4 little boys he can play with while Carlie is gone to school. He wouldn't let me take his picture on his first day of school so this one with Carlie will have to do.

Here is Carlie in front of her classroom. Her teacher set up a treasure hunt for her class a few days before school started to get the children familiar with their new school and new classroom. The treasure hunt ended with each child making a school bus with graham crackers, Oreos and Chex cereal. It made Carlie excited for the first day of school.

We love the Davis County Fair! Rick took the kids one evening and spent hours attending the performances, visiting the exhibits and eating the yummy food! And I got the night off. What could be better than that?

Carlie was so excited to come home and show me the pictures of all the fun stuff they did. The highlight was holding the tarantula. Davis didn't want to hold it, but changed his mind after they came home. So, Rick took a special trip back to hold the tarantula, scorpion and legless lizard. What a great dad!

Joseph's Favorite Thing!

When Joseph goes missing and the house gets quiet I run to one of two places, first the laundry room to see if he is playing in the laundry detergent or the pantry to see if he is playing to the flour. I know I should child proof these two areas, but can't seem to find a good place to store those items. I try to keep the doors shut, but they never seem to stay that way. Here's what happened one day when Joe went missing for a few minutes. I can't get mad at his cute little face, so we end up laughing instead. I think I have another Davis on my hands....

BYU-IDAHO

Since Rick and I are BYU-IDAHO Alumni Ambassadors, we were invited to campus during Education Week for a little bit of training. They paid for our meals and hotel, so we thought it would be a nice get away and a chance to learn a little bit more about what we are supposed to be doing as Ambassadors.

Rick loved being back on campus and to visit all the places he remembered when he went to school there. The education week classes were uplifting and inspiring. We also had no kids, so we took advantage of the situation and went to the temple and to the new Harry Potter movie. Thanks everyone that watched our kids so we could go.

Annual Lambert Reunion

Over the July 24th holiday, we headed up to Albion, Idaho for the annual Lambert Reunion. It was held at an old school campus, which had plenty of room for all those that attended. It was a week full of good food, fun and family. Carlie and Davis lived in their swimming suits the entire week. Spending time in the pool, hot tub and blow-up slides. They never ran out of things to do or someone to play with.

Rick competed in the annual Elva Golf Tournament and his team took home the 1st place prize. We also started a new bowling tournament tradition where Rick again came in first place. We enjoyed the somewhat relaxing week away from home. Davis speaks daily about this trip and can't wait until the reunion next year.

Joseph was usually found climbing up and down these stairs. I'm amazed he didn't

fall down these stairs, especially since there was a huge drop-off on the other side. My two handsome boys!

Gone Fishin'

We took a day trip to Payson Lake to spend some time with the Emery family fishing. We found a nice shady spot and had a great time catching fish. Carlie caught and reeled in her very own fish. She loved it, except for the actual fish part. All the little kids would run and hide every time a fish was about to be reeled in. They were scared for some reason of the actual fish. We had so much fun, thanks Neil and Michelle for planning this trip. We will have to make it an annual tradition.

Lagoon

Here are a few pictures from our recent trip to Lagoon. Yes, they are almost identical to the pictures of last years Lagoon trip except the kids are another year older. They love Lagoon and since we live so close they ask everytime we drive past the park "when can we go to The Goon?"

I have to thank Austin for coming up, so I could have help during the day before Rick could get there. I also have to thank Austin for talking me into going on the ride Wicked where my new cell phone fell out of my pocket and was smashed to pieces. Thanks Austin, for coming to Lagoon..I think!

The kids were sad when it was time to head home. They could spend everyday at Lagoon and not get tired of it. Too bad their mom doesn't feel the same. We will have to wait until next year to visit "The Goon" again.
