2nd Annual GTL Family Reunion

It has now become a Gordon Terry Lambert Family tradition to spend a weekend during the summer at Bear Lake. This weekend gives all the little cousins a chance to spend time together making lots of memories and lots of noise!! The adults have fun staying up late playing games, eating and sharing stories. I know as our kids grow older they will always remember these fun times they had together as a family. Here are a few of the things we did while we were there this year. The lake is always a highlight of the trip. The weather was perfect and the kids had fun playing in the sand and watching their dads play football.

Joe Joe was happy to be at the beach. I think this is the only picture I have to document the fact he was actually at this reunion. He was actually a pretty good baby during this trip.

Davis is in the habit of eating anything he comes across-- today it was a sticker, yesterday it was burnt pieces of food that had fallen off the bar-b-que. The lake was no exception. I found him drinking the water and eating the sand. If he has no problem eating sand, it makes me wonder why he won't eat his dinner...

Our family after 15 minutes in the cave. Carlie was scared and cold so I left with her to wait for the group outside. Davis and Rick lasted another 5 minutes and they were ready to go. The caves were actually pretty cool and I wish we could have toured the entire cave. Maybe when the kids are a little bit older.

Carlie's Swimming Lessons

Carlie started swimming lessons this week. We had a rough start, but I think she is starting to like it and is learning lots each day. She works one on one with an swim instructor and has already learned to float on her back. I think that is pretty impressive since today was her third lesson and she spent the second lesson screaming and kicking and wanting to get out of the water. She was a totally different girl today and even jumped off the diving board. Watch the video and you can see how she can come up out of the water and go straight to a float. She is still working on holding her breath and staying under water without getting water in her nose. I think that will take lots of practice.

What Do You Do in the Summertime?

We love to eat popsicles, watermelon and ice cream. We love to play outside in the water. And we love to spend time together as a family. What do you like to do in the Summertime?

21 Blessed Days

We were saddened to hear yesterday that one of our new nephews, Logan, returned to his Heavenly Father. Due to his early birth and fragile state we were never able to actually meet him. Nevertheless, his life has opened my eyes and blessed my life. One thing I know that the spirit has testified to me numerous times is the truthfulness of eternal families. I know this to be true, I have no doubts. Please keep Rachel and Clint and their family in your prayers.

How do I love thee?

Rick and I recently celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. It is hard to believe it has been 9 years. It seems just like yesterday we were living in Logan in our small married housing apartment, just the two of us, going to school and working. Now 9 years, 3 kids, 2 apartments and 2 houses later, we are still happy and in love.
I am lucky to have such a wonderful husband. He does so much for me and our children. Here's to many, many more years together! I love you Rick!

Roly Poly Baby

Joseph had his 2 month check-up with his pediatrician this week. We were happy to hear that he is a healthy baby and he weighed in at a whopping 15.1 pounds (95%) and was 23 inches long (50%). All the nurses had to check out the chubby baby. The first thing the doctor said when she she came in the room was "Your baby's fat". I guess she says it how it is. Just for reference, Carlie and Davis weighed 15 1/2 pounds when they were 6 months old. We love our chubby, sweet baby that gives us adorable smiles.

Searching for Bugs

Carlie and Davis love to go on adventures, so this week we drove out to a place we have been wanting to visit for awhile. It is called the Jensen Nature Park. The park has a long walking path that loops around a pond and it has several bridges that cross over streams. Most of the area is marshland full of birds and bugs-a great nesting sight for mosquito's(fortunately we didn't have a problem with them that day). The kids brought their bug jars (thanks Kelly) they made and went searching for bugs. Carlie found a Potato Bug and Davis found a Daddy-Long-Legs. Davis' bug didn't make it to the end of the day. Davis filled his jar with his spider and rocks and when Davis started shaking the jar... his bug didn't stand a chance. It was a fun day!

Carlie's First Dance Recital

My little girl is all grown up! You've gotta love that smile! Carlie has enjoyed her first year of dance and seems to have learned a little bit about ballet and tap dancing. Just in case you are interested, her first dance recital is on June 12th. I just thought this was a cute picture and wanted to share it.

Thanksgiving Point and Treehouse Museum

Here are a few pictures from our recent outing to Thanksgiving Point's Tulip Festival. It was a fun day spent with Grandma Emery, Aunt Michelle and Cousin Cole. It was also a chilly day (however Carlie wanted to wear a short sleeve shirt, skirt with sandals and no jacket-must take after her Dad)! We didn't get many pictures of the tulips, but they were beautiful! I'd never seen the waterfall in the gardens until this visit and it was amazing. The Children's Garden is definitely a place we will have to take the kids during the summer to play in the water by Noah's Ark!Carlie and Davis with their cousin Cole

We recently got a pass to the Treehouse Museum in Ogden. It's not too far from our house and it is a great place to take the kids to let them run around and play for a few hours. Carlie's and Davis' favorite part about the museum is the craft area. This is the first place they go, when we visit, to see what they are making for the day. Carlie also had a chance to pretend to be a fish in one of the plays the kids participate in on Friday nights. There is always something new and fun for them to do. I am sure we will be visiting the Treehouse Museum more during the hot, hot days of summer so, if anyone wants to go, give us a call!
